Donations of Usable Items

Thank you for your donations. Your generosity enables people to receive clothing, furniture, and household items free in Jesus’ name.

Clothing and Household Items:

empty tomb is able to accept up to three bags or boxes of in-season clothes. Household items are also welcome.
Drop-off hours are: Mon-Fri, 9 AM – 4:30 PM, and Saturdays, 9 AM-1:00 PM. Please call (217) 356-2262 for any variation in these hours, such as for holidays.
Spring-Summer clothes in season: March-September.
Fall-Winter clothes in season: October – March.
Please do not leave items outside the building as they cannot be processed.

Furniture:

Please do not bring furniture items to empty tomb as we do not have space for them.

Pickup of Furniture: We are doing pickups of furniture. Please email info@emptytomb.org to arrange the pickup of items for which waiting lists are maintained. If you live in Champaign, Urbana, or Savoy, arrangements can be made to pick up the following furniture items that are in good condition:

Queen Bed (Mattress, Box Spring & Frame; or just mattress)
Full Bed ((Mattress, Box Spring & Frame; or just mattress)
Twin Bed (Mattress, Box Spring & Frame; or just mattress)
Sofa/Couch
Kitchen Table & Chairs
Dresser/Chest of Drawers

Requesting Furniture: The request lists for furniture are open. Please contact the office on Tuesday, starting at 2 PM, at (217) 356-2262 to see if the waiting list for a particular item has sign-up spaces available.

Items We Cannot Process:

For a variety of reasons, we are not able to receive or pick up the following items:

Computers
Printers
Televisions
Stoves
Refrigerators
Air Conditioners
Knives
Large Kitchen Appliances
Paint and Chemicals
Hide-a-Beds
Medical Equipments
Garage Sale Remains
Because of changing government safety regulations, Used Baby Furniture, including:
High Chairs
Cribs
Swings
Strollers
Car Seats
